The fragment belongs with a group of Hebrew incunabula in the collection about which we have no information as to when they arrived. Like these, it has neither an accession number nor a pre-war shelf mark; on the other hand, there is no evidence it was acquired after the war. Given the fact that the same edition is represented twice in the collection, it may have been kept in a separate place before 1933, while Aron Freimann served as Judaica librarian, and was assigned a shelf mark only after the catalogue of incunabula in the Frankfurt collection by Kurt Ohly and Vera Sack had been published in 1967.- Owner
