In part 2, leaf 22/10b is mounted a bill of sale written and signed by "Gershom ben Moshe Soncino", printer." It was issued to one Moshe ben Shmuel Diena on 25th of Tevet (29 Dec. 1488), 1 leaf laid in. Has inscription, leaf 22/10a: the censor Luigi da Bologna, 1602. with passages struck-out. In part 1, leaf 1/1 in laid. Minor marginal ms annotation. This volume was in the collection of Otto Vollbehr before being acquired by the Library of Congress on July 3, 1930. According to a Library of Congress memo (Myron Weinstein to Fredrick Goff, July 22, 1963), this copy was in the possession of the Israelitisch-Theologische Lehranstalt . Weinstein mentions an article in the Soncino Blatter (v. 1, 1925-1926). According to this article it says "Sepher mitzvoth gadol, Soncino 1488, das sich im Besitz der Israelitisch-Theologischen Lehranstalt in Wien befindet", thus placing this copy in the Lehranstalt as late as 1926. There is a good chance that Vollbehr purchased this copy from the rabbinical school. In Vollbehr's person catalog record he cites the Soncino Blatter article. William Popper discusses Luigi da Bologna in his Phd dissertation (Columbia University, 1899) concerning the places he was in when he censored books. Before March of 1602, he was in Modena and after he was in Reggio. Although we don't know exactly where the book was, Luigi signed the book in 1602 and from March on wards he was in Reggio, so a good chance the book was on Reggio.- Owner
