According to a Library of Congress memo (Myron Weinstein to Fredrick Goff, July 22, 1963), this copy was in the possession of the Israelitisch-Theologische Lehranstalt . Weinstein mentions an article in the Soncino Blatter (V.1, 1925-1926). According to this article it says "Sepher mitzvoth gadol, Soncino 1488, das sich im Besitz der Israelitisch-Theologischen Lehranstalt in Wien befindet", thus placing this copy in the Lehranstalt as late as 1926. Based on an article in the Jewish Encyclopedia the Israelitisch Theologische Lehranstalt was founded in 1893. It was discovered, based on comparing this copy with the Ludwig Rosenthal 1912 catalog entry, that this specific copy was sold by Ludwig Rosenthal in 1912. There is a good chance that Otto Vollbehr bought this copy directly from the Israelitisch Theologische Lehranstalt sometime after 1926 and before July 2, 1930. This particular copy was part of the Otto Vollbehr Incunabula Collection which was acquired by the Library of Congress in 1930.- Owner
