All notes by Chaim Meiselman: notes Architechtural title with adorments and ornamentation, though devoid of symbolism and thematical illustrations. The introduction carries a long passage of the author relating his reaction to reading ’Zamir ’Aritsim ve-Harbot Tsurim’, a letter sent out in the name of Elijah b. Solomon of Vilnius excommunicating the Hassidim and their "groups" in Lithuania and the Ukraine. The author responds to the Hassidic movement with vicious condemnation, and demands ’God fearing Jews’ to stay away from them ’like the distance east is from west’, and excoriates them for ’frivolity and waste’ and ’a vilification of The House of God’ (a reference to their connection to Sabbetai-Zevi, the 17th century false Messiah); ... ’their useless study of Kabalah’; ’and they certainly hold back the Messiah, may God watch us from them...’ Responsa follows the order of the organization of the Turim. Edited by Shimon-Naftali Hersh Weill, son of Nathaniel Weill of Kahrlsruhe ("Korban Netanel"). Extensive imprint information on recto of leaf 97. Contributing to the printing were "Nathan Nata Thännhausen, resident of Ts.D. (Zirndorff)"; edited by "Matisyah b. Löb Güttmann of Fürth"; added printers "Henoch-Wolf b. Yitzhak-Zekyl of Aube-Fürth, grandson of the author of Ḥinukh Bet Yehudah" (Hanoch Steinach); "Hirsh b. Mosheh Estreich-Segal of Fürth"; finally "Meir b. Joseph of Itingen". references Steinschneider, Cat. Libr. Bodl., 6011 : 1. BenJakob, Otsar Hasefarim, zayin 148. Friedberg, Bet Eked Sefarim, zayin 313. contents Folios 1-97 are responsa; Fols. 98-119 are novellae on the Talmud and sermons. Volume ends with an index.
