notes by Chaim Meiselman: General Note In this edition, 'Shir ha-Kavod' ('The Hymn of Glory') follows Kabalat Shabat, preceding Festival prayers (and Halel). General Note Added Selihah of Ele'azar Ashkenazi, fols. 71-72, noted by the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book as not having been printed since the Krakow 1588 edition by Isaac Prosstitz; there stating that it was brought (to Central Europe) by a pious and devout man, from the residents of Jerusalem". Adjacent is פזמון בשעת המגפה ח"ו, 'communal-prayer of a time of plague, heaven forfend', authored during the 17th century by 'R. Moshe Reb-Mendells' of Krakow, who was Av-Beth-Din of Prague. General Note Additional printer at colophon: Mosheh b. Yisra'el Eiteiss (אוטיץ) of Prague. General Note Folio edition, referencing the Sulzbach (1716-17) edition on the title as being a replica. Actually, it is a replica of the Mahzor for Polish Rite, published at Prague by Juda Bak, the publisher's father (Steinschneider, Cat. Libr. Bodl. 2534) - hence the type-face and ornamentation give the impression of being older. General Note Ornamentation throughout. Notable in vol. 2 are two female busts (with made-up hair in the Roman manner) on folio 28b, adorning the 'Nishmat' prayer of Sabbath and Festival mornings; male cherub faces on folio 3b (2nd. count); and a crown-triangular design on fol. 243a (2nd. c.). General Note "Cum Licentia Superiorum."- Place
