According to a note in the catalog record, this was the first Hebrew book printed in Karlsruhe. See http://www.hebrewbooks.org/41070 for a digitized version. Korban Netanel by Nathaniel Weil is a commentary on Asher ben Yehiel's 13th century commentary on the Talmudic tractates in Seder Moed and Seder Nashim. (Asher ben Yehiel is also known as Asheri or Rosh, 1250-1327 and ultimately settled in Toledo, Spain). Weil served as the chief rabbi of Karlsruhe from 1750-1769. The notes which follow are by Chaim Meiselman: notes This work is a super-commentary to the commentary of Asher ben Jehiel on the Talmudic Orders of Mo’ed and Nashim. First Hebrew book printed in Karlsruhe (Jewish Encyclopedia, 1906, Karlsruhe). It is also the first edition of this work. Title statement extends to the history of the printing of this volume. “Netanel Weill … A.B.D. (Av-Beth-Din) de-medinot Durlakh u-medinot Baden … ve-lifnim hayah A.B.D. be-medinot Schwarzwald … ve-epelendt (?) (s.i.c.; i.e. rabbinical judge) be-ḳ.ḳ. Prag ha-birah, tivneh ve-tiḳon”. This is a documentation of the rabbinates held by the author, beginning with Prague, subsequently Mühringen and the greater Black Forest Margraviate (Schwarzwald), and finally Kahrlsruhe with the greater Baden-Durlach Margraviate. T.p. within ornamental border; a full-ark style design is headed with the Prussian Eagle, with the words ’ק.ן. צפור’, i.e. birds nest, with the Hebrew letters ḳuf and nun abbreviated to signify the title, Ḳorban Netanʼel. Vine schemes decorate the elements of the woodcut structure. Printed in double columns; the catchwords are printed in bold. references Steinschneider, M. Cat. Libr. Bodl., 6649 : 2.
