LEVIT Izyaslav Elikovich (1922, Chisinau - 2006, Four Lee, New Jersey), Historiker. Dr. East Sciences (1983). Absolvierte Schimmel. Zustand ped. Institut (1945). С 1945 работал в Ин-те истории АН МССР (в 1962–87 зав. отд. истории стран Юго-Вост. Европы). С 1991 – гл. науч. сотр. и и. о. зав. отд. истории и культуры евреев Молдовы Ин-та нац. меньшинств АН Молдовы. В 1980–87 читал курс лекций по новейшей истории в Кишиневском гос. пед. ин-те им. И.Крянги. Автор св. 130 науч. и науч.-попул. работ по новейшей истории Румынии, Молдавии, междунар. отношениям, истории 2-й мир. войны, участвовал в подготовке ряда обобщающих ист. тр. и коллективных монографий. С нач. 1990-х гг. занимается историей Катастрофы в Бессарабии, Буковине, Транснистрии и др. проблемами истории евреев 20 в., участник подготовки сб. док-тов по истории евреев Бессарабии. Гос. пр.
