После окончания (1935) Ленингр. горн. ин-та работал инж. в Кизеловском и Донецком бассейнах. В 1940 возглавил контору «Гидроуголь». В 1941–44 – в Кр. Армии. С 1944 дир. Кузнецкого НИИ угля в Прокопьевске. В 1955 организовал и возглавил Всес. ин-т гидравлич. добычи угля в Новокузнецке, одноврем. преподавал в Сибирском металлургич. ин-те (зав. кафедрой гидродобычи). Создатель нового технол. направления в угольной пром-сти гидродобычи, идею к-рой впервые изложил в дипломной работе (1935). В Донецком бассейне в 1937 была пущена под его рук. первая в мире гидрошахта, работа к-рой подтвердила экон. эфгрективность гидродобычи угля.
