MERIDOR Yaakov (echte Familie Vinyarsky) (1913, Lipno, Provinz Plock - 1995, Tel Aviv), Politiker. Er studierte am Cheder Mettukan und am Moria Gymnasium in Wloclawek. Beitar trat der Bewegung 1930 bei. Seit 1932 - in E.-I. Ab 1933 - in Gagan. 1939 wurde er in die Kurse der com geschickt. ETZELA in Polen. 1940 kehrte er zu E.-I. zurück und nahm an einer Sabotage teil. Beförderungen im Irak. In den Jahren 1941–44 com. ETsELa, 1944–45 Stellvertreter. com. ETZELA. 1945 wurde der Brite. Behörden und nach Afrika verbannt. Nach mehreren. versuchte zu fliehen und kam 1948 nach Paris. Im selben Jahr kehrte er nach Israel zurück und rekrutierte ETsEL-Kämpfer in die Reihen der israelischen Verteidigungskräfte. Nach dem Tod der Pest. В 1930 вступил в движение Бейтар. С 1932 – в Э.-И. С 1933 – в Гагане. В 1939 послан на курсы ком. ЭЦЕЛа в Польше. Возвратившись в 1940 в Э.-И., принимал участие в диверсион. акциях в Ираке. В 1941–44 ком. ЭЦЕЛа, в 1944–45 зам. ком. ЭЦЕЛа. В 1945 арестован брит. властями и сослан в Африку. После неск. попыток совершил побег и в 1948 приехал в Париж. В том же году вернулся в Израиль, вербовал бойцов ЭЦЕЛа в ряды Армии Обороны Израиля. После гибели мор. судна «Альталена» был арестован и заключен на 10 дней в тюрьму в Бейт-Шеанс. Один из рук. движения Херут. В 1981 –84 мин. экономики. Деп. Кнессета 1–6-го и 10-го созывов (1949–69, 1981–84). Чл. комиссии по иностр. делам и обороне Кнессета 1–6-го созывов.
