С 1956 работал в Ин-те биофизики АН СССР.Б. выполнил ряд оригинальных работ: установил зависимость частоты транслокации (мутации) от дозы Х-лучей (1937), влияние инертных участков хромосом на частоту и характер изменений в соседних активных участках (1938), иссл. взаимодействие гетерохроматич. и эухроматич. р-нов хромосом в развитии организма (1940), механизм осуществления хроматичности, связанной с гетерохромными р-нами (1944).
