"Magicians Come to People" consists of essays on the fate of the creators of the tale - from Cervantes and A.S. Pushkin to A. de Saint-Exupery and J. Korchak. In the 1960s. created pov. in the genre of phantasmagoria: "Pirrow Island" (1965), "After the re-recording" (1966), etc. Author of the memoirs "Tale of Memories" (1972). В «Повести о десяти ошибках» и в «Окоеме» описаны восп. детства, отрочества, судьба еврейской семьи. В 1932 окончил биол. отд-ние физ.-матем. ф-та МГУ, увлекся журналистикой. В 1941–45 – на фронте, опубликовал сб-ки фронт. рассказов. В пов. «Жизнь Василия Курки» одна из глав посв. судьбе еврейской девочки в период нем. оккупации. Автор кн. по истории науки: «Жизнь побеждает» (1950), «Первое сражение» (1956), «Заметки о генетике» (1965); дет. кн.: пов. «Остров Платона Королева» (1953), «На замерзшей планете» (1963), сказок «Человек-Горошина и Простак», «Мальчик Одуванчик и три ключика» (обе – 1969) и др. Кн. «Волшебники приходят к людям» состоит из очерков о судьбах творцов сказки – от Сервантеса и А.С.Пушкина до А.де Сент-Экзюпери и Я.Корчака. В 1960-е гг. создал пов. в жанре фантасмагории: «Остров Пирроу» (1965), «После перезаписи» (1966) и др. Автор мемуаров «Повести воспоминаний» (1972). Совм. с М.Н.Каликом написал сценарий о Корчаке «Король Матиуш и Старый Доктор» (ф. не был снят). Сценарий напечатан в Израиле на рус. яз., затем на иврите в сб. сценариев Калика (1988).
