MESTECHKIN Mark Solomonovich (1900, Kiev - 1981, Moscow), director, teacher. Cand. lawsuit (1971), prof. (1977). He studied at the studio at the Solovtsov Theater in Kiev, in 1918 he was accepted into the troupe. The first role is Dobchinsky ("The Inspector General" by N.V. Gogol). In 1920 he came to Moscow, worked in the T-re tragicomedy, in the cabaret "Do not cry", t-t-t "Tavern Wrap up", "Blue blouse", "Funny miniatures", on the stage, together with MI Zharov performed couplets. In 1924–26 - in the T. Sun. Meyerhold, played in performances: "D.E." M.G. Podgaetsky (based on I.G. Erenburg's novel "D.E. Trust"), "Rychi, China!" and "The Earth on End" by S.M. Tretyakov (based on M.Martinet's play "Night"). In 1927–30 he taught a clownery course at a circus art workshop. Filmed at the Mezhrabpomfilm cinema in f. "Ice House", staged by f. “Twelve more”, “Barricade” and others. In the 1936–37 season, he worked in T-re nar. creativity, supervised by the colchus. t-rum, organized an acrobatic. ans. Center, houses of culture of railway workers. In 1941–45 he headed the front. conc. brigade, acted in films. From 1948 dir. Vses. associations of state circus, since 1954 ch. dir. Moscow circus, in which he staged programs: "Little Pierre" (1949), "The Courageous" (1953), "Youth Celebrates" (1957), "Carnival in Cuba", "Peace Pipe" (both - 1962). In 1950 he staged in Kazan on his own. the script pantomime "Song of Dockers". Since 1964 hand. clownery studios at Moscow. circus, since 1966 - division dir. circus GITIS. Nar. art. RSFSR (1969). В 1924–26 – в Т-ре им. Вс. Мейерхольда, играл в спектаклях: «Д.Е.» М.Г.Подгаецкого (по ром. И.Г.Эренбурга «Трест Д.Е.»), «Рычи, Китай!» и «Земля дыбом» С.М.Третьякова (по пьесе М.Мартине «Ночь»). В 1927–30 преподавал курс клоунады в мастерской циркового иск-ва. Снимался на к/ст «Межрабпомфильм» в ф. «Ледяной дом», поставил ф. «Еще двенадцать», «Баррикада» и др. В сезон 1936–37 работал в Т-ре нар. творчества, руководил колх. т-ром, организовал акробатич. анс. Центр, дома культуры железнодорожников. В 1941–45 возглавлял фронт. конц. бригаду, снимался в кино. С 1948 реж. Всес. объединения госцирков, с 1954 гл. реж. Моск. цирка, в к-ром поставил программы: «Маленький Пьер» (1949), «Отважные» (1953), «Юность празднует» (1957), «Карнавал на Кубе», «Трубка мира» (обе – 1962). В 1950 поставил в Казани по собств. сценарию пантомиму «Песня докеров». С 1964 рук. студии клоунады при Моск. цирке, с 1966 – отд-ния реж. цирка ГИТИСа. Нар. арт. РСФСР (1969).Соч.: Цирк.
