МГПИ им. В.И.Ленина (1934–54), зав. кафедрой экон. географии. Участвовал в эксп. в Туву (1930, 1931), где изучал нар. х-во и население респ., разрабатывал материалы с.-х. и демографич. переписей. В 1945 основал Комиссию по географии населения и городов моск. филиала Геогр. об-ва СССР. К. – один из основоположников совр. географии населения; впервые создал и читал в МГПИ и МГУ (1947–48) курс по этой дисциплине.
