LEONTIEV Lev Abramovich (1901, Kovna - 1974, Moscow), economist. Dr. econ. Sciences (1934), prof. (1934), bp. USSR Academy of Sciences (1939). In 1917–21 he was in the Komsomol work (in 1919–21 he was a member of the Central Committee of the RKSM). Graduated from the Institute of Red Professors (1925), taught polit. economy and economics of industry in Moscow. universities. In 1931–35 he worked at the Institute of Marx-Engels-Lenin under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks. In 1939–46 the head. department polit. economy VPSh, in 1946-52 - GA at the Central Committee of the CPSU (b), at the same time. head dep. and Chl. editorial board gas. Pravda, in 1943–57, ch. ed. zhurn. "New time". 1972–74 members. editorial board of the encyclopedia “Polit. saving". Author of works on the methodology, subject and method of polit, the economy of capitalism and socialism, the methodology of teaching it. Textbook written by L. ЛЕОНТЬЕВ Лев Абрамович (1901, Ковна – 1974, Москва), экономист. Д-р экон. наук (1934), проф. (1934), ч.-к. АН СССР (1939). В 1917–21 на комсомольской работе (в 1919–21 чл. ЦК РКСМ). Окончил Ин-т красной профессуры (1925), преподавал полит. экономию и экономику пром-сти в моск. вузах. В 1931–35 работал в Ин-те Маркса-Энгельса-Ленина при ЦК ВКП(б). В 1939–46 зав. кафедрой полит. экономии ВПШ, в 1946–52 – АОН при ЦК ВКП(б), одноврем. зав. отд. и чл. редколлегии газ. «Правда», в 1943–57 гл. ред. журн. «Новое время». В 1972–74 чл. редколлегии энциклопедии «Полит. экономия». Автор работ по методологии, предмету и методу полит, экономии капитализма и социализма, методике ее преподавания.
