После переезда в Ленинград, в 1925–32 был одним из организаторов и чл. объединения «Круг художников», участник всех его выставок. В 1926–36 преподавал во ВХУТЕИНе, в Ин-те пролет. изобр. иск-ва (ИНПИИ), в Ин-те живописи, скульптуры, архитектуры (ИЖСА) и Всерос. АХ (ВАХ). Среди наиб. значит, живописи, произв. 3. «Дорога» (1927), «Старик еврей» (1939), «Бой у переправы» (1941) и др.
