PECAZH Mendl (* 1922 in Pultusk, Polen), Literaturkritiker, Sprachwissenschaftler. Studierte bei Cheder, Yeshivas, absolvierte vgl. Schule. In den Jahren der 2. Welt. Während des Krieges lebte er 1945/48 in der UdSSR in Polen. Seit 1948 - in Israel. Er diente in der Armee und lebte dann in einem Kibbuz. 1954-59 studierte er jüdische Literatur und Jiddisch an der Jüdischen Universität in Jerusalem. Seit 1958 - sotr. Yad Vashem und ed. 4-bändige Bibliographie "Tod und Mut im Spiegel der Presse auf Hebräisch" (Jerusalem, 1966–67). Ab 1957 publ. eine Reihe von Studien. arbeitet an hebräischer und jiddischer Literatur, darunter „Jiddischismus am Ende. 17. und erster. Fußboden. 18. Jahrhundert ". Beteiligte sich an der Zusammenstellung der vollständigen Bibliographie ed. auf Jiddisch in der UdSSR von 1917 bis 1960 (Jerusalem, 1961). Er stellte eine Bibliographie mit Verweisen auf die Anthologie "A shpigl oif a stein" ("Spiegel auf einem Stein". Tel Aviv, 1964) zusammen.

Participated in the compilation of the complete bibliography of ed. in Yiddish in the USSR from 1917–60 (Jerusalem, 1961). Compiled a bibliography of references to the anthology "A shpigl oif a stein" ("Mirror on a Stone". Tel Aviv, 1964).

ПЕКАЖ Мендл (р. 1922, Пултуск, Польша), литературовед, лингвист. Учился в хедере, иешивах, окончил ср. школу. В годы 2-й мир. войны жил в СССР, в 1945–48 – в Польше. С 1948 – в Израиле. Служил в армии, затем жил в кибуце. В 1954–59 изучал еврейскую лит-ру и идиш в Еврейском ун-те в Иерусалиме. С 1958 – сотр. «Яд ва-Шема» и ред. 4-томной библиографии «Гибель и мужество в зеркале прессы на иврите» (Иерусалим, 1966–67). С 1957 опубл. ряд иссл. работ по лит-ре на иврите и идише, среди них – «Идишизм в кон. 17-го и перв. пол. 18-го ст.». Участвовал в составлении полной библиографии изд. на идише в СССР за 1917–60 (Иерусалим, 1961). Составил библиографию справок к антологии «А шпигль ойф а штейн» («Зеркало на камне». Тель-Авив, 1964).
