BERNANDT Grigory Borisovich (1905, Vilna - 1978, Moscow), musicologist. From 1922 to 1924 he studied violin at Moscow. cons. at K.G. Mostras, in 1925-29 in Leningrad. cons. E.E. Kruger and I.A. Zelikhman, in 1929–31 again in Moscow. cons. at Ya.I. Rabinovich. In 1933 he graduated from the historical-theoretical. Faculty of Moscow cons. (studied with M.V. Ivanov-Boretsky and A.A. Alshwang). Served as a lecturer, ed., music. critic. In 1938–40 he led a special. history course rus. music in muses. uch-shche them. Gnesins in Moscow. In 1948-50 the head. department of f. "Sov. music". From 1957 one of the editors. Sat. “Muses. inheritance". He was engaged in issues of source study, textual criticism, lexicography, rus. classic music. БЕРНАНДТ Григорий Борисович (1905, Вильна – 1978, Москва), музыковед. В 1922—24 учился по классу скрипки в Моск. конс. у К.Г.Мостраса, в 1925—29 в Ленингр. конс. у Э.Э.Крюгера и И.А. Зелихмана, в 1929–31 вновь в Моск. конс. у Я.И. Рабиновича. В 1933 окончил ист.-теоретич. ф-т Моск. конс. (занимался у М.В.Иванова-Борецкого и А.А.Альшванга).Выступал как лектор, ред., муз. критик. В 1938–40 вел спец. курс истории рус. музыки в муз. уч-ще им. Гнесиных в Москве. В 1948—50 зав. отделом ж. «Сов. музыка». С 1957 один из ред. сб. «Муз. наследство». Занимался вопросами источниковедения, текстологии, лексикографии, рус. классич. музыки. Б. – составитель ряда словарей: «Сов. композиторы – лауреаты Гос. пр. СССР: Справочник» (1952), «Сов. композиторы: Краткий биогр. справочник» (совм. с А.Н.Должанским; 1957), «Словарь опер, впервые поставленных или изданных в дореволюционной России и в СССР: 1736–1959» (М., 1962), «Сов. композиторы и музыковеды», в. 1–3 (1978–84), «Кто писал о музыке. Библиографич. словарь муз. критиков», в. 1—4 (1971—89). Автор кн.: «П.И.Чайковский: Краткий очерк жизни и деятельности» (1940), «С.И.Танеев» (М., 1950), «А.Бенуа и музыка» (М., 1969), «В.Ф.Одоевский и Бетховен» (М., 1971).
