Ю.О.Мартова, в к-рой первым поставил вопрос о необходимости перехода от пропаганды в раб. кружках к агитации на почве экон. требований рабочих. Появление брошюры К. стало поворотным пунктом не только еврейского, но и всерос. раб. движения. К. – один из основателей Бунда (1897) и РСДРП, на 1-м съезде к-рой (1898) избран чл. ЦК. Сразу после съезда арестован. После освобождения (1900) уехал из России. За границей входил в ЦК Бунда, участник 2-го съезда РСДРП (1903) с совещат. голосом.
