KURTS Aron-Shmuel (1891, Osvey, Provinz Vitebsk. - 1964, New York), Dichter. Seit 1911 - in den USA. Lebte in New York, Philadelphia, Long Beach. In Philadelphia debütierte er 1916 in Versen. В Филадельфии дебютировал в 1916 стих., стал активно печататься в разл. еврейских периодич. изд. Основал ряд изд-в, где публ. в осн. свои произв. («Курцн нотицн» («Краткие заметки»), «Дер цвайг» («Ветвь») и др.). Изд-во «Гайнтике лидер» просуществовало с 1957 до 1964. К. был поэтом-модернистом прокоммунистич. ориентации, писал также драм. произв., эссе о лит-ре.
