DZIGAN Efim Lvovich (1898, Moscow - 1981, ibid.), Film director. He studied at a commercial school (1918). In 1919–22 he served in the army, the Cheka, the GPU. Graduated from the private film school of B.V. Tchaikovsky (1926). In cinema since 1924 (assistant operator, assistant director at various studios in the country). In 1932–41 and from 1954 dir. Mosfilm (1941–54 at the studios of Alma-Ata, Baku, Minsk, Kiev, Leningrad). Since 1958 the teacher of VGIK, prof. He made his debut in 1928 f. "The first cornet Streshnev" (with M.E. Chiaureli). В кино с 1924 (пом. оператора, ассистент реж. на разных студиях страны). В 1932–41 и с 1954 реж. «Мосфильма» (в 1941–54 на студиях Алма-Аты, Баку, Минска, Киева, Ленинграда). С 1958 преподаватель ВГИКа, проф. Дебютировал в 1928 ф. «Первый корнет Стрешнев» (совм. с М.Э.Чиаурели). Снял ряд док. ф. Среди игровых картин наиболее известны: «Мы из Кронштадта» (1936, Высшая пр. Всемирной выставки в Париже, 1937), «Если завтра война» (1938, с Л.Я.Анци-Половским, Г.С.Березко и Н.М.Кармазинским), «Железный поток» (1967, Гран-при «Золотой идол древних инков» Мкф в Икалайо, Перу, 1970).
