МУШЕЛЬ Георгий Александрович (1909, Тамбов – 1989, Ташкент), композитор. Проф. (1976).Первые пьесы сочинил в 13 лет. В конце 1920-х гг. работал тапером в тамбовском клубе. В 1930–36 учился в Моск. конс. в кл. комп. у Н.Я.Мясковского, затем у М.Ф.Гнесина и Ан.Н.Александрова, полифонию изучал под рук. Г.И.Литинского; одноврем. занимался в кл. Л.Н.Оборина (1933–36). С 1936 работал в Ташкенте, преподавал в конс. гармонию и полифонию. Большую роль в худ. формировании М. сыграла совм. работа с С.М.Михоэлсом над пост. спектакля по пьесе Х.Алимджана «Муканна», к к-рой М. писал музыку (1943). М. – автор первых узбекских концертов, первой симф. и первого балета, органных произв. Во мн. соч. использовал узбекские нар. напевы, органично сочетая элементы нар. мелоса с собств. ориг. мелодиями и симф. развитием. Осн. соч. (исполнены и поставлены в Ташкенте): оп. «Фархад и Ширин» (совм. с В.А.Успенским, 1940); бал.: «Балерина» (1952), «Мукими» (1953), «Фархад и Ширин» (1954), «Цветок счастья» (1959), «Кашмирская легенда» (1961); 3 симф.; 8 орк. сюит; 6 концертов для фп. с орк.; соч. для инстр-тов с орк.; произв. для органа; романсы и вок. циклы (в т. ч. «Незабываемое», 1964) на стихи еврейских и др. поэтов, песни; музыка к спектаклям и к/ф. Засл. деятель иск-в УзССР (1944).
