Öttinger in Berlin, prom. angeblich in Kiel, Okt. 1841 wird seine Anstellung als Oberlehrer und Prediger in Gliwice (Gleiwitz), Oberschlesien, von den Orthod. verhindert, acht Monate lang Dajan bei Israel Goldschmidt in Krotoszyn (Krotoschin), 1842 von der russ. Reg. nach Riga berufen, bleibt aber als Prediger in Berlin. Ordiniert von Goldschmidt (9. Aug. 1842) und Öttinger (26. Dez. 1842). 1. März 1843 erster „Rabbiner, Prediger und Religionslehrer“ in Stettin, im Juni 1844 Heirat mit Philipine Lingersohn (geb. 1820 in Brzeg/Brieg, Schlesien). 1843 Gründung einer Elementar- und Religionsschule\nSept. 1844 Streitigkeiten um seine Kultusreformen, 1845 wird er jedoch daran gehindert, die Predigerstelle in Prag anzunehmen. Anhänger der konservativen „Theologen-Versammlung“ Z. Frankels (1846). 1847 lehnt er das ihm angebotene Landesrb. von Mecklenburg-Strelitz ab, bewirbt sich dort aber 1852 erneut. 1854 Gründung des jüd. Waisenhauses in Stettin. November 1856 wird er in Wien von Jellinek besiegt\nMai 1859 Oberrb. in Pest als Nachfolger Löb Schwabs\n6. Sept. 1859 Einweihung der Pester Synagoge. Nachdem 1860 die Magyarisierung von Schule und Kultus einsetzt, wird er von den Orthodoxen als illoyal verdächtigt und isoliert.";
