        jlo:hasAbstract       "Sohn des Handelsmanns Lieber, 1818 zur Jeschiwa nach Fürth, dort sechs Jahre lang Schüler von Wolf Hamburger. Er erhielt sein „jugendliches Zeugniß sogenannte morenu vom seeligen Rabbinathe aus Fürth“. Bei der ersten Schließung der Hochschule im Jahr 1824 geht er nach Preßburg, um dort bei Moses Sofer weiterzustudieren\nwird von diesem in dessen Todesjahr 1839 ordiniert, soll aber verschiedene rb. Berufungen ausgeschlagen haben. „Er wollte schlechterdings keinen materiellen Nutzen von der Thorakrone haben, und verheiratete sich dort mit einer frommen edlen Frau, die den Hausbedarf durch Handel herbeischaffte, damit ihr Mann ungestört dem Thorastudium obliegen könne. Erst durch äußerste Noth getrieben übernahm er später die vakant gewordene Stelle als dayyan und nachher [1857?] als R[o’š] B[eth] D[in]“, d. i. Rabbinatspräses.";
