Laut Vertrag sollte er „eine monatliche Predigt in der Synagoge halten, und überhaupt seiner ihm anvertrauten Heerde in menschlicher und religiöser Hinsicht Sittlichkeit“ lehren. 1826 Rb. in Haguenau, 1831 Oberrb. in Straßburg. Konflikte mit Konsistorium und Präfekt wegen seiner mangelnden Beherrschung des modernen Predigtstils sowie seiner Opposition gegen die öffentlichen Schulen und den soldatischen Dienst am Sabbat, wird infolgedessen strafversetzt, 1834 Oberrb. in Colmar.";
