Wird 1801 Leiter des von Joachim Edlen von Popper und Israel Simon Frankel gegründeten Bet-Midrasch. Konservativerer Konkurrent von Samuel Landau und Gegner der von diesem vertretenen dialektischen Lehrmethode. Seine zweite Frau war Rebeka (1768-1852). Vater von Leopold F. (1802-1879), Arzt und Schriftsteller, Großvater des deutsch-böhmischen Dichters M. Hartmann (Frankl-Grün, Kremsier, Bd. III, S. 148).";
