Stand mit seinem Bruder Isaac (1883-1946) auf Seiten der Gegner der Reform des bayerischen Staatskirchenrechts, die die Erlaubnis zu Seperatgottesdiensten der Orthodoxie bringen sollte, und vertrat die Überzeugung, dass die Orthodoxen durch rechtliche Änderungen nur verlieren könnten. Sein Anspruch auf die Nachfolge seines Vaters führte 1926-1929 zu einer erbitterten Auseinandersetzung in der Frankfurter Gemeinde (Frankfurter Rabbinerstreit)B. scheiterte bei der letztlich anberaumten Abstimmung am 2. Sept. 1928, in der sich 612 zu 390 Stimmen gegen ihn aussprachen. Mitglied im Verein für die Interessen des gesetzestreuen Judentums in Bayern und im Bund gesetzestreuer jüdischer Lehrer Deutschlands. Vorstandsmitglied im Verband orthodoxer Rabbiner Deutschlands, im CV-Aschaffenburg und in der Rabbiner-Hirsch-Gesellschaft. Seit 1909 verheiratet mit Minna Goldberger aus Nürnberg. Starb an einer Herzlähmung.";
