Morenu von Hillel Sontheimer (Rb. in Aschaffenburg). Liturg. Reformen. 1819 wegen Bekenntnis zum relig. Pluralismus durch den Fürther Oberrb. M. S. Kohn mit dem Bann belegt. Seit 1821 auch Distriktsrb. für den Kreis Neustadt a. d. Aisch. Feb. 1825 gewählt zum Distriktsrb. in Bamberg mit 600 fl. Gehalt, Okt. 1825 Staatsprüfung in Bayreuth27. Okt. 1825 Bestät. durch die Regierung, 4. Nov. 1825 Amtsübertragung, aber erst am 5. April 1826 kann er tatsächlich in seine Funktionen treten, die er außer in Bamberg auch in den Landgemeinden Hirschaid, Buttenheim, Gunzendorf, Demmelsdorf und Altenstein ausübt. Gründet „Israelitischen Leseverein“, 1828 „Feiertagsschule“, führt Konfirmation ein, predigt regelmäßig in der Synagoge, verbessert die Hygiene der Tauchbäder durch Erfindung einer Regenwasserspeisung. Seit 1829 gibt er unentgeltlich Religionsunterricht am Gymnasium und an der Lehrerbildungsanstalt. 1830 orthodoxer Gegenkandidat zu dem Reformrb. Löwi bei der Wahl in Fürth, der größten bayerischen Gemeinde. „Rosenfeld galt, mit einigem reformistischen Anstrich (er konnte deutsch schreiben), im Allgemeinen für orthodox, und seine Wahl wäre sicher erfolgt“, hätte nicht M. S. Kohns Schwiegersohn Gewissensskrupel gehabt, für den Gebannten zu stimmen (Achawa 1865,  S. 118 Anm.). Nach dem Tod seiner ersten Frau Sara (1839) heiratet R. 1842 Martha Fischer aus Buttenheimdie im Jahr 1848 vollzogene Scheidung wird von dem kgl. Gericht nicht genehmigt. 5. Nov. 1853 Einweihung der neuen Synagoge in der Generalsgasse. R. erblindete 1858.";
