Heirat mit Kela Sack, Tochter des Prager Schächters Elias S., lebt als Privatgelehrter von einem kleinen Buchhandel. Noch zu Lebzeiten seines Meisters wurde er 1811 dessen Nachfolger als einer der drei Prager Jeschiwaleiter. 1813 Stiftsrabbiner an der Klaus des Simon Kuh in Prag, mit Dekret vom 17. Dez. 1823 als Talmudlehrer staatlich anerkannt. Beeindruckt 1825 den greisen mährischen Landesrb. Mordechai Benet bei einer seiner Kurreisen nach Böhmen. Auf Benets Empfehlung 1826 Rb. in Prostìjov (Proßnitz), Mähren22. Dez. 1830 mit 5 gegen 1 Stimme zum Nachfolger Benets gewählt, doch erst 27. Juni 1832 Installierung als mährischer Landesrb. in Mikulov (Nikolsburg) mit 600 fl. Gehalt. Widersetzt sich der Einführung des Deutschen als Predigtsprache und versucht, die Modernisten Fassel, Neuda und Stößel vom Rabbineramt auszuschließenauf der anderen Seite leitet er in Mikulov eine deutsch-hebräische Schule und toleriert die Universitätsstudien einzelner seiner Schüler. Starb auf einer Kurreise nach Karlsbad. Seine Schwiegersöhne waren die Rb. Jakob Brüll und S. Kulke.";
