Als örtliche Reformer darauf drängen, das lauthalse Synagogengebet zu verbieten, versucht er die Einberufung einer Synode zur Regelung des Gottesdienstes (vgl. IA 1841, S. 375). Selbst der Reformtendenzen verdächtigt, rechtfertigt er in einem Sendschreiben vom 17. März 1842 seine gemäßigte Haltung. Wurde von König Willem II. mit dem Löwenorden geehrt.";
