Sofer, verheiratet in Albertirsa, Ungarn er verwitwet nach einem Jahr und wird Prediger in Pest. Zweite Ehe mit einer Tochter des Mendel Kohn in Preßburg und weitere Studien an der dortigen Jeschiwa, 1846 Rb. in Sebiº (Szebes), Ostungarn, 1851 Rb. in Balassagyarmat, einer der Anführer der Orthodoxie in Ungarn. Leitet eine Jeschiwa von 70-80 Schülern. Zwei seiner Söhne waren in Ungarn Rb.
