Sohn des Kaufmanns Nathan U. und der Elsa, geb. Weißenberg Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Gleiwitz, 1924 Abitur. 1924-1929 JTS Breslau und ITLWien, Universitätsstudium in Breslau, Wien und Königsberg 1927 Promotion in Königsberg 1928-1929 stud. an der Hebräischen Univ. Jerusalem. 1929-1931 Jugendrb. in Mannheim, 1932-1935 Bezirksrb. in Offenburg, Baden betreute zugleich den verwaisten Bezirk Bühl. Mitglied im ADR um 1932 Schriftleiter der Mitteilungen des ADR. Aktiver Zionist Gründung des landwirtschaftlichen Hachscharah-Zentrums Offenburg aktiv im Hechaluz. Januar 1935 Emigration nach Palästina, 1935-1946 Lehrer bei der Jugend-Alija und am Kinderheim „Ahava“ in Kiryat Bialik, 1938 Beauftragter der JugendAlija in Wien, wo er 50 Kindern die Auswanderung ermöglichte. 1946-1951 Lehrer am Lehrerseminar in Tel Aviv 1951 Ernennung zum Leiter des Lehrerseminars (später „Shein- Seminar“) in Giv‘at ha-Shelosha, Petach Tikwa, 1955-1976 Dozent, später Chairman der Pädagogischen Fakultät der Univ. Tel Aviv. 1955-1958 Inspektor des israelischen Erziehungsministeriums zur Aufsicht über die Lehrerausbildung. Gastprofessor im Fachbereich Pädagogik an der Univ. Marburg.- publication
