In Our Portfolio Our readers may look forward to many pleasant hours with The B 'nai B 'rith Magazine. Here are some of the new articles in our portfolio which will be given early publication: C| '' Intermarriage Among the Jews of Soviet Russia" is the subject of a contribution by Z. Wendroff. "The smallest Jewish settlement now has a couple of imported sonsin-law, not from the Yeshivas of Mir or Wolozhin, but Gentiles from the interior of Russia," Mr. Wendroff writes. "And the population looks upon this condition as though it has always been in vogue.'' Judaism in Russia, however, is thriving, he points out. f B. Z. Goldberg writes of a community of negro Jews who practice all the Jewish ceremonies in the Harlem black-belt. <J In an article on 'Leo Ornstein —Modernistic Composer," Heyman Zimel tells of a "music ... as amorphous and chaotic as the life it seeks to interpret." <J Under the title, "The Economic Life of the Russian Jews," Dr. L. Magriv compares the distressing condition of the small-town Jewish artisan and tradesman with the happy, wholesome life of the Jewish farm colonist. <I The works of Jacob Plessner, the eminent German-Jewish sculptor, are discussed in an article by Israel Auerbach. Of Plessner's sculptured portraits, Auerbach says: "They are permeated with the soul and spirit of the men they represent," and of his animal sculptures, he writes: "... they contain an almost philosophical critique upon human manners. ..." , Jan. 4 , Jan. 18 Feb. 3 Mar. 5 Mar. 17 Mar. 18 Apr. 3 Apr. 17 Apr. 18 Apr. 23 Apr. 24 May 3 May 20 June 1 June 6 June 7 June 1 July 17 July 30 Aug. 7 Aug. 29 Sept. 27 Sept. 28 Sept. 29 Oct. 6 Oct. 11 Oct. 12 Oct. 17 Oct. 18 Oct. 19 Oct. 27 Nov. 25 Dec. 19 Dec. 24 Why You Should Support Our Advertisers EVERY one of our advertisers is in full accord > with our program of social justice and tolerance.
