Mossinson, Tel-Aviv; Adolf Pollak, Berlin; Eliezer Kaplan, Jerusalem. The districts and working circles held over twenty wellattended district Conferences. The Tarbuth Organisation under the auspices of the Federation maintains the Hebrew school work in Carpatho-Russia and conducts the Hebrew movement in Czechoslovakia, which has to record a considerable advance. The activity of the Chaluz Association became particularly difficult owing to the growth of the Chaluz movement, the centre of gravity of which has been transferred from the west to the each of the Republic. The collections have yielded the following results : KH. KKL. Federation Dues. Shekel. 5694 Kc.1,560,579.20 Kc.1,822,196 Kc.263,569 12,861 (Apr. 1,1933- Mar. 31,1934) 5695 Kc.1,485,547.30 Kc.1,864,207 Kc.279,506 (Apr. 1,1934to May 15th Mar. 31,1935) Of especial importance was the action carried out by the Jews in Czecho-Slovakia in honour of President Masaryk on the occasion of his eighty-fifth birthday, in the form of the K.K. collection for Kfar Masaryk in Palestine. The collection yielded over Kc. 1,000,000. The Chairman of the Central Commission of the Keren Hayesod is Dr. Armin Weiner (Bruenn), and the Chairman of the Keren Kayemeth Commission is Dr. M. Singer (Prague). An important part in the Zionist life of the country is played by the large organisations of the WIZO, Maccabi, and the various Zionist youth organisations. Special interest attaches to the organisation reform, whereby only those were allowed to vote in the elections for the Zionist Conference who paid both the Shekel as well as the organisation dues for the two years between one conference and the next. FINLAND. The Central Committee consists of the following : Benjamin Nemeshansky, Chairman, and I. Bassin (Viborg) and Zevi Chazan (Abo). Dr. S. Federbush, the Chief Rabbi of Finland, is. the Honorary President of the Zionist Federation. According to a resolution passed at the National Zionist Conference, which was attended by representatives of all Zionist groups in Finland, the Central Committee assumes also the functions of the Palestine Office, and when immigration matters have to be discussed, special meetings are convened in which representatives of all Zionist groups and societies participate in accordance with regulations and instructions governing the composition of the Palestine Offices and Committees. 206
