Land donations represent donations from various persons (chiefly donors from the U.S.A. who have transferred to us land they had previously bought from the Zion Commonwealth, " A.M.Z.I.C. ") and also the financial participation of new settlers in the land purchases which the K.K.L. has effected for them. We have received £P.44,317 through the campaign for German Jews. This includes £P.27,000 from England, £P. 13,500 from South Africa, <£P.1,950 from Erez Israel and <£P.967 from the Argentine. VII. Propaganda and Organisation. The K.K.L. has continued its educational and organising activity among youth organisations. During the period under review Palestine delegates from within the organisations themselves have again been sent out with the assistance of the K.K.L. The K.K.L. has likewise helped to arrange summer schools and training courses, and has issued educational material. At the initiative of the Head Office a gathering of representatives of the youth organisations of all parties was arranged at Ginegar. The youth quota was introduced, self-taxation of the youth groups in favour of the K.K.L., in addition to their participation in regular collection activity. In the countries where there are Hebrew schools, the K.K.L. has continued its work among the school-children. In 5694 the third Palestinian Teachers' Conference in favour of the K.K.L. took place, in order to strengthen our work in the schools of Erez Israel. At the suggestion of teachers a children's box was produced so that from its earliest years the child may learn to contribute to the K.K.L. Box. Our relations with orthodox groups were strengthened. On the basis of an agreement with the " Torah Ve'Avoda " movement and the Mizrachi, the K.K.L. monies collected by the above organisations in Poland, Rumania, Lithuania and Latvia, are utilised to acquire land for the settlement of Hapoel Hamizrachi. In the large women's organisations, Hadassah and W.I.Z.O., increased activity in favour of the K.K.L. is to be noted. The former adopted a quota of $35,000 for this year. On the basis of the last World Conference of the W.I.Z.O. in Tel Aviv which took place during March of this year, the W.I.Z.O. groups undertook to raise a K.K.L. quota of £P. 15,000 during the coming year, partly through the self-taxation of its members. Delegates. After the 18th Congress at Prague, Mr. Ussishkin visited Austria. Mr. Bistritzky, of the K.K.L. Head Office, visited Bessarabia, Western Galicia, Poland, and Bukovina for propaganda and organisation purposes. Special mention should be made of the offer of Mr. S. Zuchowitzky, a Director of the K.K.L., to place himself at our disposal for a propaganda tour through Poland and Rumania. 173
