Table I. shows the remittances from the various countries, or .'groups of countries, in the period under review as compared with the preceding report period. According to Table I. £116,958 19s. 6d. were received from the United States in the period under review as against £133,545 9s. 6d. in the preceding report period. From the European Countries £168,037 9s. 5d. were received during the period under review. This amount includes remittances of £34,943 10s. lOd. from Great Britain. The balance was distributed over the European Countries as follows : South Africa. In the first year of the report period £21,585 13s. lOd. were received, and £62,780 Is. 6d. in the second year, totalling £84,365 15s. 4d. Moreover, there were a number of remittances for special purposes, such as £2,950 for the WIZO, £3,035 14s. 3d. for the Mizrachi Palestine Fund (including an amount of £1,535 14s. 3d., the balance of the £6,000 accorded to this Fund on the strength of the agreement made on September 17th, 1931, as well as £1,500 on account of the grant of £2,400 from the campaign 1934-1935). The South African receipts include the sum of £1,087 14s. 7d. resulting from the liquidation of Kfar Yeladim through transfer of part of the inventory to various Emek settlements, and £961 17s. 8d. for the maintenance of the children transferred from Kfar Yeladim to Ben Shemen. A South African donor remitted £300 to the Head Office for the erection of a building in Mishmar Haemek. All these special allocations for the WIZO, the Palestine Fund of the Mizrachi, Kfar Yeladim and others totalling £8,335 6s. 6d. are included in the above quoted sum of £84,365 15s. 4d. In the first half-year of the period covered by this report the Keren Hayesod Committee for Eretz Israel remitted £5,102 17s.
