— 39 — housekeeping for the Rambdm and Nehemia groups, with gardeners in Kiryat Bialik. A new feature added to the system during the period under review, was the utilization of the small-holding labour settlements. A group of fifty, in part direct from Germany and in part from the German refugees in France, was established in Nahalal. The structure of moshav life, fundamentally different from that of the kibbuts} necessitates changes in supervision and in the educational method. The boys and girls, instead of being constituted as a self-contained group, live each in the home of a farmer, sharing his life and the life of his children in every particular, and working side by side with him in the fields and in the farmyard and with his wife in the house. Arrangements are under way for the utilisation of additional Moshavim. Social centres have already been erected in Kfar Yehoshua and Kfar Yehezkel, each of which has undertaken to train groups of fifty. The gravest difficulty encountered in placing the groups has been in respect of the sons and daughters of religious parents. Sede Ya'aqov, Beit Ze'irot Mizrahi and Kibbuts Rodges constitute the only organised possibilities. The two technical groups, Rambam and Nehemia, were a faute de mieux device resorted to in order to
