The Central Bureau contributed LP. 1,000 to the project and the Council for German Jewry approved of a one-time grant of LP.60 per student. With the aid of the training budget of the Council for German Jewry, a number of talented students in various special trades were brought from Germany to Palestine. Those who have been engaged in arts and crafts were placed in the New Bezahl School and music students in the Palestine Conservatoire of Art and Music, both in Jerusalem. The Central Bureau contributed extensively also to the budgets of these two institutions. The contribution b ythe Council for German Jewry in the training of new immigrants is generally LP.60 per capita. The sum of LP.70 per capita is granted for the agricultural training of girls. When this report was being written, the immigration of young people to be trained, on the basis of special certificates, and their absorption in agricultural centres, had almost been completed. About 350 such immigrants entered and were absorbed in this way.
