As the Joint Distribution Committee and the I.C.A. had fixed their support for 1936 and 1937 only for the budget of the Reichsvertretung der Deutschen Juden and for refugee relief in various countries (apart from LP.1,500 from the J.D.C. budget for 1936 for Palestine expenditure), the Palestine allocation was made entirely by the British section of the Council and the Jewish Agency. It should be noted that the Palestine allocation for 1937 contained the sum of LP.26,900 carried over from the previous year, so that the aggregate grant for the two years, together with amounts given by the Jewish Agency, was LP.419,400. This amount (apart from LP.2,500 granted to the Hebrew University) was at the disposal of the Central Bureau (amounts for land purchase were taken over by the Jewish National Fund in co-operation with the Central Bureau), and was distributed as follows :
